Pisar el mismo lugar que hace siglos recorrieron nuestros antepasados, caminar por la Calzada de los Muertos y admirar las Pirámides del Sol, la Luna y la Pirámide de la serpiente emplumada, que se encuentran flanqueados por conjuntos residenciales, entre ellos el Palacio de Quetzalpapálotl, es inigualable. Es además, desde 1987, Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad por la UNESCO.
Para visitar este sitio hay que llevar un plan trazado, ya que es imposible conocerlo en un solo día: además de lo mencionado, también hay dos museos especializados, Cultura teotihuacana y el Museo de murales Teotihuacanos “Beatriz de la Fuente”. También es opción visitar el jardín escultórico y el jardín al sur del Río San Juan.
Rutas
- Ruta monumental: Inicia en puerta 1 y finaliza en puerta 3.Se recorre Calzada de los Muertos (el área central de la Ciudad y sus principales complejos arquitectónicos, La ciudadela, El gran Conjunto, complejo calle de los muertos, edificios superpuestos, Plaza Oriente y Grupo Vikking; Pirámide del Sol y la gran Plaza de la Luna.
Duración aproximada 2 horas.
- Ruta de la pintura mural: Inicia en el Museo de Murales teotihuacanos (puerta 3ª y finaliza en el Conjunto Arquitectónico Tepantitla (puerta 4).Duración aprox. 1:45 hrs.
- Visitar los Museos Especializados; Cultura teotihuacana y museo de murales Teotihuacanos “Beatriz de la Fuente”; el Jardín Escultórico y el Jardín del Río San Juan. (Puerta 5) donde puedes descansar y tomar un refrigerio.
Todas las puertas cuentan con áreas comerciales y también se ofrecen visitas guiadas gratuitas, que deben ser reservadas en el Departamento de Museos y Servicios Educativos de la Zona Arqueológica.

Estacionamiento costo extra. Las puertas 2,3 y 5 cuentan con cajones de estacionamiento para personas con capacidades diferentes y en la puerta 3 hay rampas y andadores para personas en silla de ruedas o con dificultades motrices.
También hay “domingos familiares” dirigido a grupos no mayores a 15 personas a las que se les proporciona gratuitamente un recorrido guiado con duración de una hora.
