María Christine Galindo es parte del equipo de diseño de experiencias del Museo Tamayo, un lugar que para ella “es un signo desde que fue inaugurado, de una época en la que la iniciativa privada cobraría nueva visibilidad e importancia en la promoción de las artes plásticas de México.” Éste fue idea de un grupo empresarial, que se levantó en el emblemático Bosque de Chapultepec, a lado del Museo de Arte Moderno y del Museo de Antropología e Historia. 

“En 1970 el artista Tamayo comenzó a exponer al gobierno las intenciones de construir un museo de arte internacional. Los detractores argumentaban que el proyecto no era viable, pues estaría alejado del interés popular y que el artista estaba construyendo en vida su propio monumento”. 

La colección que donó Tamayo para construir el Museo Rufino Tamayo de Arte Contemporáneo fue formada en su mayoría durante la década de 1970. En esa selección se encuentra el mejor testimonio sobre las posturas del artista respecto a lo que era o debía ser el arte. “El lugar fue fundado en 1981, con el objetivo de producir innovadoras exposiciones y enriquecer la experiencia estética y sentido crítico de los distintos públicos del museo a través de la investigación y la interpretación de su programación.”

El museo está ubicado en Paseo de la Reforma 51, Bosque de Chapultepec I Secc, 11580 Ciudad de México, CDMX. Abre de martes a sábado de 8 A.M a 6 P.M. La entrada General tiene un costo de $70.00, pero hay entrada libre a niños menores de 12 años y estudiantes, maestros y adultos mayores con credencial vigentes. El domingo: entrada libre a todo público
