No te pierdas “Dolor y gloria”, el nuevo largometraje de Pedro Almodóvar

El más reciente largometraje de Pedro Almodóvar lo ha llevado a representar a España en los próximos premios Oscar, una obra visual que ningún cinéfilo se perderá.

Lector, esta nota no contiene spoilers, solo una recomendación para este fin de semana sobre cine. Claudia Mendoza Hernández es editora de contenidos en la Cineteca Nacional y en esta ocasión habla sobre el cine de Pedro Almodóvar. “Este director se adentró a la cinematografía en medio de la corriente llamada hippie, el boom de la literatura sudamericana y el arte pop, curioso, ¿no?”.

Almodóvar nació en la ciudad de Calatrava, España el 25 de septiembre de 1949. “Las películas de Almodóvar poseen una carga significativa de un desenfrenado orden de la vida. También una fuerte carga dramática y trágica de sus personajes”. Por ello, el cineasta español se convirtió en la más importante revelación de los años 80.

“A menudo se distinguen dos etapas en el cine de Almodóvar: La que se inicia en 1974 con sus cortos (Pepi, Luci, Bom y otras chicas del montón) y su etapa de consagración a partir de Entre las tinieblas (1983) y ¿Qué he hecho yo para merecer esto?” (1984). El cine de Almodóvar es un ejemplo paradigmático de ese borrar o confundir fronteras. Algo propio del arte, pues en sus  obras de diluye lo real y lo ficticio.

En su más reciente película vemos una serie de tormentos que sufre Salvador Mallo, un director de cine en su ocaso. Hay dolores físicos y otros del pasado: su infancia en los años 60, cuando emigró a un pueblo en Valencia en busca de prosperidad; su primer deseo y su primer amor en el Madrid de los años 80; y el vacío existencial ante la imposibilidad de seguir filmando. 

Otro motivo para que no te la pierdas, es que fue galardonada con el Premio a Mejor Actor (Antonio Banderas) en el Festival de Cannes de este año. 

“Dolor y gloria habla de las pasiones y recuerdos que dan sentido a la vida.” Asimismo representará a España en los premios Óscar 2020.
