Ferias, festivales, teatro, cine, cultura, música y conocimiento en  espacios públicos es la oferta que promueve y organiza el gobierno de la Ciudad de México en alianza con los empresarios – algunos nombrados Embajadores culturales-  del sector turístico, cultural, agencias de viaje, hoteleros, restauranteros, productores teatrales, promotores culturales, directores de museos y las 16 Alcaldías, para lograr que la Ciudad se convierta en “Capital Cultural de América”. 

Programa de verano para todos. 

La oferta cultural ya comenzó desde principios de este año y se seguirá promoviendo un amplio programa de actividades. De las más recientes, se presentó la “Feria Internacional de las Culturas Amigas”. En junio se presentará “Diverso Fiesta de la Diversidad y la palabra”-28, 29 y 30 de junio-. “Diálogos de verano Fiesta de las ciencias y humanidades” del 9 al 21 de julio; “Cantares, Fiesta de Trova y Canción Urbana”, el 27 y 28 de julio “Escénica, Ciudad de México”: teatro, danza, arte circense, cabaret, teatro de calle, talleres, conferencias y actividades complementarias en ocho sedes y ocho teatros, entrada gratuita. Feria de las Culturas Indígenas: diez días con muestras de trabajo artesanal, gastronomía y actividades artísticas; “Cinema Ciudad de México” Festival Latinoamericano de Cine; estará también presente la ya tradicional  “Feria Internacional del Libro” (del 11 al 20 de octubre) hasta llegar al “Día de Muertos” -con un desfile de alebrijes, megaprocesión de catrinas entre muchas actividades más -del 1 al 17 de noviembre.

Turistas, ingresos, empleos

Durante la presentación de la campaña  “Capital Cultural de América” presentada en el Museo de la Ciudad de México, Carlos Mc Kinley, Secretario de Turismo, mencionó que el lanzamiento de esta campaña  coincide con las vacaciones de verano, del 5 de julio al 25 de agosto. De acuerdo con las estimaciones, dijo que se esperan en este periodo 7 millones 112 mil  500 turistas, superior en dos por ciento al año pasado en esta temporada. 

Turismo de barrio

Entre los planes de este año se contemplan  150 paquetes y promociones que ofrecen los prestadores de servicios e inician a partir de julio y terminan en diciembre. Se integran en estos paquetes,  “Las experiencias de barrio” que derivan del programa  “Turismo de barrio” donde se podrán conocer un poco más la Ciudad, con aventuras como  espeleología entre volcanes, ir por la Ruta del amaranto y la chía, caminar por el Pico del Águila, hacer rappel, para niños y jóvenes hay centros de entretenimiento, museos, recorridos varios, realidad aumentada. Otras actividades serán :  lucha libre, boxeo, basquetbol, etc. Entre estas promociones, en el mes del orgullo gay, paquetes que invitan a la comunidad LGBTTTI, 38 hoteles presentan grandes promociones con tercera noche gratis; 40 tour operadores con paquetes completos con alojamiento, transportación guías y recorridos varios.
