Se ha demostrado, a partir de diversos estudios, que realizar deporte físico es beneficioso para la salud, logrando mejorar no sólo el aspecto físico, sino también cuestiones psicológicas y favoreciendo las interacciones sociales. Desde el punto de vista físico, la Organización Mundial de la Salud. (O.M.S), indica que la realización de actividad física de forma continuada prolonga la longevidad y protege contra el desarrollo de enfermedades.

La Gimnasia es uno de los deportes más completos, pues brinda los beneficios antes mencionados. ¿Cómo cuáles?

  • Mejora del aspecto estético: permite el descenso de peso y modelar la figura además de aumentar la masa muscular, volviendo el cuerpo más armónico, firme y atlético.
  • Favorece la flexibilidad y coordinación, debido a que el cuerpo se mueve con más elasticidad permitiendo un nivel más amplio de estiramiento y elongación.
  • Disminuye la sensación de cansancio y genera sensación de mayor nivel de energía.
  • Mejora la resistencia y condición física, incrementando la capacidad funcional para realizar otras actividades físicas de la vida diaria.
  • El fortalecimiento de los huesos disminuye el riesgo de lesiones o trastornos como la osteoporosis y previene o reduce el riesgo de padecer enfermedades, como las cardiovasculares
  • Al mantener una rutina de ejercicio sostenida, el cuerpo produce y libera una mayor cantidad de endorfinas, las hormonas que producen la sensación de placer y disminuyen el dolor.
  • La sensación de bienestar somático afecta positivamente el estado anímico, logrando que afrontemos la vida con mayor optimismo y energía. Posibilita la liberación o descarga de tensiones y la distracción de las preocupaciones, disminuyendo la ansiedad, el malhumor, la irritación y otros estados emocionales alterados. Es sumamente recomendado para personas que padecen de estrés, depresión o trastornos de ansiedad.
  • Promueve la inclusión e integración social: al acercarse a otros predispone el ejercicio de superar la timidez y moderar reacciones individualistas.
  • Disminuye la sensación de soledad y aislamiento. Estimula la posibilidad de forjar nuevas relaciones que amplíen la red actual vincular, más allá de la actividad física que los nuclea.
  • Desarrolla competencias, basadas en el cooperativismo, la aceptación de las diferencias y la negociación, para la puesta en marcha de un objetivo en común.
  • Estimula el ser colaborador y respetar la autoridad, ya que deberá responder las reglas propias de la actividad, normas sociales del grupo al que pertenece y la coordinación de algún líder.

Si lo que buscas es practicar esta disciplina debes tener en cuenta que para entrenar gimnasia necesitas tener óptimas condiciones físicas, no sólo de fuerza, flexibilidad, potencia, resistencia aeróbica y anaeróbica, en cada uno de los músculos del cuerpo, en cuanto más rápido comiences a practicar, más rápido comenzaras a tomar condición. ¡Suerte!
