Si eres un amante de la televisión y la tecnología, esto te interesa… La muestra, organizada con la colaboración de Fundación Jumex Arte Contemporáneo y Fundación Televisa, presenta a la televisión como objeto, medio y sujeto.

El pasado noviembre se inauguró la exposición “Realidad Programada: La vida y arte de la televisión” en el museo Jumex, esta exposición examina la historia de la televisión y explora diversas formas de la experiencia televisiva, abordando así el impacto que tiene la televisión en la vida contemporánea.

La televisión forma parte importante de la cultura visual, la circulación de noticias y la creación de identidad al presentar y representar una cosmovisión globalizada que a la vez se ve influenciada por condiciones locales de transmisión y recepción.

Realidad programada fue curada por Kit Hammonds para el Museo Jumex. Las instalaciones, fotografías, esculturas y videos que llenan la Galería 3 cuentan la historia de la televisión. Hay obras de artistas de América, Europa, Asia y África, como Candice Breitz, Miguel Calderón, Phil Collins, Lynn Hershman Leeson, Christian Jankowski, Bruce Nauman y Yoshua Okón, entre otros.

Desde su invento a principios de la década de 1950, la televisión ha sido un medio importante de diferentes aspectos sociales, entre ellos el arte, pero también un sujeto de arte en sí mismo. Realidad programada explora ese papel lúdico, infantil, crítico, político y artístico de un aparato que ha creado un sinfín de problemas y un sinfín de posibilidades.

La televisión es más accesible para las personas a diferencia de otros medios de comunicación, y esto es así, no sólo en términos económicos sino también en términos culturales, se maneja con un lenguaje coloquial, comprensible y general. Visualmente utiliza el atractivo o dinámico del medio, por lo cual su alcance es mucho mayor que otros medios como la radio o el periódico impreso, ciertamente limitados a un sólo tipo de soporte.

A pesar de que creamos que la televisión sale despacio de nuestras vidas, remplazada por teléfonos y computadoras, su dominio mediático sigue siendo intocable. Si bien fue diseñada para otros fines, sus cualidades artísticas son muchas y la exposición Realidad programada da cuenta de ello. La intención no es responder si la televisión es o no arte, sino más bien plantear la pregunta de cómo observamos una pantalla al sacarla de su medio habitual y ponerla en el centro de una galería.

La muestra estará abierta hasta el 24 de marzo del 2019

¿Cómo llegar?

Puedes llegar a través de las estaciones de metro San Joaquín o Polanco.

¿En que horarios?

De martes a domingos a partir de las 10:00 hasta las 19:00 horas.

¿Costos?

La admisión general tiene un costo de $50.00, para el público nacional el precio es de $30.00 y si eres estudiantes, profesor o adulto mayor puedes mostrar tu credencial que lo acredite y entrar gratuitamente.

El museo Jumex te ofrece visitas guiadas gratuitas de martes a viernes en cuatro horarios: 11:00, 13:00, 16:00 y 18:00 horas. Y durante el fin de semana puedes encontrar estos recorridos a las 12:00, 14:00, 16:00 y 18:00.

También hay visitas guiadas para los más peques los días sábados de 13:00 a 14:00 horas (únicamente niños de cinco a once años).
