Lenguas indígenas por la música

Una forma de expresarnos es mediante la música, no importa el idioma o lenguaje, es una forma de interactuar con el medio cultural que nos rodea.

Es muy común escuchar canciones o canticos tradicionales en algún idioma, pero escuchar metal, rock o rap no es tan usual.

Qué pasa si te dijeramos que existen grupos de metal o rock que logran hacer música de este género a partir de su lengua nativa; en efecto, existen grupos que utilizan su propio dialecto para crear sus letras.

Siempre  en sus canciones resaltan su origen y tradición de acuerdo a sus creencias culturales. El día de hoy hablaremos sobre este tipo de bandas que existen en México con canciones de su autoría en náhuatl y tzotzil.

Existe un grupo llamado “Mikistli”, que aparte de hacer canciones utilizando los instrumentos como son: la guitarra eléctrica, el bajo o la batería, también en sus presentaciones realizan rituales resaltando los mitos y leyendas sobre la cultura prehispánica. Su nombre significa “la muerte” y sus letras están en náhuatl.

Otro grupo que también hacen canciones en una lengua indigena, es “Lumaltok” con sus letras en Tzotzil una lengua derivada del Maya. Viaja de un lugar a otro y de  una experiencia a otra mezclando gustos, costumbres, estilos de vida, dando a conocer los cambios que ha tenido la humanidad.

 Lumaltok significa “neblina” en Tzotzil, “lumal” es tierra y “tok” es nube.

Este tipo de bandas que lucha por preservar sus tradiciones y mantenerlas vivas, hacen que también se sientan orgullosos de sus orígenes.

Una forma de representar a nuestro país es mediante las letras de las canciones que están plagadas de historia, leyendas, mitos que intensifican la raíces y a la vez sobresalen.

Es una manera distinta de conocer las culturas y al mismo tiempo que prevalezcan. Si en algún momento llegas a escuchar que estas   bandas van a presentarse en algún evento, no dudes en ir y disfrutar, es otra manera de llevar a México en el corazón.

    and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.

    There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
